Itinerary No. 7 - One day excursions programme

We leave Patti to Milazzo for a hydrofoil sea crossing to Lipari, an island of volcanic origin, the biggest of the Archipelagos of the Aeolian Islands (group of seven Islands of the north coast of Sicily) famous not only for its history but also for its beautiful natural enviroment. The history of Lipari goes back to the Neolithic period (4th millennium B. C.).

Visits will be made to the Acropolis of the ancient Lipari, the citadel of medieval period; the Cathedral which crowns the citadel, originally built by Roger the Norman (1084); the Aeolian Museum which houses one of the most important archaeological collections in the Mediterranean area.
